Miuccia Prada and Stella McCartney were both inspired by fruit. Prada showed bold banana prints while McCartney opted for a citrus mix: lemons, oranges, limes and grapefruit. (Although she did do bananas in the past, in her spring 2001 Chloé lineup.)
Thanks to Muccia and Stella, I now like bananas, oranges, apples and strawberries on my clothes. Actually, like is not a good word to describe my latest obsession J

If I visit one and the same shop over and over again, it sometimes happens that I notice an item I like, but still leave it for some reason; it is not really my style, it may be unflattering, it is not “interesting enough” or I already have a similar one in my selection. So I leave the boutique thinking of this garment yet with the feeling I might have made a wrong decision. The dress of this post is exactly the piece in question. I have seen it in my local ONLY shop for quite some time, but always ended up leaving it and now, that I bought it, I am really glad that I followed my style instinct. D’you ever experience the same?

Sometimes you find pieces you really love, if only they were a little bit different. So did I when I found this white dress at an ONLY store. Or it used to be a dress. I loved it, but there was something about it that wasn’t perfect if you ask me. But I bought it anyway since I knew exactly what to do with it. I cut it a little bit shorter, to make a tunic of it instead. And now it’s really what I was looking for.

It’s really often like that, you find something that’s almost perfect and when you do, you leave it. I know I do all the time. Thinking, perhaps I should buy it and make some changes. But it’s seldom I do, most of the time I don’t have the time or don’t know what to do with it. But I should buy those pieces more often, or everyone should, and remake them until they are perfect. It makes things more personal and a bit different, and I like that. It’s so much more fun than when everyone looks the same! (more…)

It seems like the winter won’t leave us here in the North, the snow is turning into ice as new snow shows up. It’s really beautiful I at Christmas time, and at New Years Eve. At this time it can cover all of the ground, but other whiles I want it to be in the ditches, it would be lovely if the roads could be clean so you can choose the shoes you want to instead of the shoes that don’t make you slip. And if it could be a few degrees above zero, I would be really happy. So you don’t have to think about keeping warm all the time. But that’s not what happens here, and I don’t feel like dressing like that anymore. I want to look my best, and really like me again. I’m not saying I want bare legs yet, I want to dress for the winter. Maybe not like I’m skiing! That’s why today I dress like this, of course I wear a warming jacket over, but I prefer taking it of any time it’s possible. (more…)
