Nowadays, in this weather the first choice of pants perhaps won’t be full length pants, especially not denim. But as always we have an exception. Like these ones. I don’t really know any motivation for not wearing them – even on the hottest days. And if you don’t like the pink color, I’ve seen them in both blue, mint and yellow. It’s your choice, but if you didn’t know this, earlier pink was one of my favorite colors. So of course these lovely jeans will keep me warm on cold summer nights. And protect me from the sun during the days.

If anything, the following is important – to protect your skin from the sun. I can tell you, don’t get burned this year, or any other year! It’s not worth it. I myself have fallen asleep in the sun several times, and know how to match these jeans with my skin color. It’s not a funny thing to do. Of course you will look tanned in the summer, but don’t stay to long in the sun. Be careful, the consequences are not always too much fun. And anyway, you do want this shade on your pants, not on your skin!

4th of July and we do celebrate the American Independence, and as you can see this day I get my inspiration from the American flag.

To talk about America is not only interesting because of that, but also because of the upcoming autumn and its fashion. Soon you will see some of the news for the AW season in store, and don’t get too surprised if you will see the influences from USA. On one hand, there will be a nice high school girl with boyish style mixed with a nice twist of the retro fashion we’ve had recently. The 70s will stay a bit longer.

And at the other hand we will see inspiration from the Native Americans and their down to earth colors and amazing prints. A lot of mustard yellow you will see. And the already loved feathers will have a real high moment this autumn, not only as decorations but as prints as well.

But this is just a few words of what you will see, let’s get back to the summer a while more. And on this day, what’s your inspiration?

I’m really a denim loving girl. Yeah, I know that might be something that’s kind of taken for granted when writing here. But what I want this to lead to is really the fact that even though I really can’t count all of my jeans anymore, I really haven’t found a really flattering pair of denim shorts that looks just the way I want them to. I can tell you I’ve tried a lot of them and have surely bought a few of the ones I found. They are hot for the moment, but it hasn’t been what I’ve been looking for. But a few days ago I tried a pair of my ONLY jeans and realized that they had the perfect fit. To be a pair of shorts.

And you’ve seen earlier that if I want to change some pieces to look the way I like them to, I do. And so I did this time as well. What I was looking for was a pair of tight blue high waist shorts, with studs. Something like the ones on the pic. And now I’m close to that, just need to get the studs on. But I’m close to the thought of my perfect denim shorts, don’t you think?

Summer is here now, and all of the sun’s shades as well. This is something that’s really true this year, yellow is hot and orange as well. And any other shade in between! I see these colors everywhere nowadays, sometimes as an accent color and sometimes as a whole garment. This is something I really like as we so often dress in black.

I’m one of those who would love to get dressed in yellow, but I really think that color is really out of my league, I can’t wear it. And me who really wants a maxi dress in yellow. So when I found this dress at my ONLY store, I was really happy, it’s not yellow but it’s a color of the sun, and not only can I wear it, it’s really my style as well. It’s amazing as it is, alone. And with a few details, it can be a really hot party dress as well as a dress for everyday wear. I love the fact that the cut is a bit twisted, and this is how I prefer to style it to get that everyday chic, making it wearable straight from work to the party! (more…)

Sometimes you find pieces you really love, if only they were a little bit different. So did I when I found this white dress at an ONLY store. Or it used to be a dress. I loved it, but there was something about it that wasn’t perfect if you ask me. But I bought it anyway since I knew exactly what to do with it. I cut it a little bit shorter, to make a tunic of it instead. And now it’s really what I was looking for.

It’s really often like that, you find something that’s almost perfect and when you do, you leave it. I know I do all the time. Thinking, perhaps I should buy it and make some changes. But it’s seldom I do, most of the time I don’t have the time or don’t know what to do with it. But I should buy those pieces more often, or everyone should, and remake them until they are perfect. It makes things more personal and a bit different, and I like that. It’s so much more fun than when everyone looks the same! (more…)

We have earlier discussed the fashion trends this season. It’s been everything from 70s bohemian style, to a new era of studio 54. And to this added a bit of rock ‘n’ roll. But a trend is so much more than just clothing, you need a lot of more pieces and a bit of personality to get it right. And when you got the cloth part, perhaps you would like to add the beauty part?

The influences come from the same directions as for the clothes. And at Anna Sui you’ll find the real bohemian style with a really natural feeling and headbands. But the natural makeup is shown not only there, that perfect natural makeup is shown at Balmain and Donna Karan for example.

A natural base is also shown at Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci, but they chose to add some lips. YSL is walking the line of wine lips, a dark purple shade and Gucci shows brighter shades.

If you look at Dior there are a lot of bright colors, like turquoise and red eye shadows, with a pair of bright lips as well. But if you aren’t really comfortable in bright colors, you can look at Chanel where the eyes are marked with a black shade, and the rest of the makeup pretty natural.

After all the lace that has been in fashion I’m getting a bit tired of it. But there is something about that kind of fabric, which is see through but still not revealing. But as it is with everything, you get tired after a while. You want some kind of variation, and when the 70s became fashionable once again, there was a great substitute for lace, crochet.

It’s a bit more bohemian and not with the same sex appeal as lace, it’s a bit rougher but still it’s the same kind of type. And you can use it in a whole different way, as cardigans, vests and whole dresses as you’ve seen on the catwalk at Gucci and Emilio Pucci, or perhaps as a skirt like Dior. But if you don’t want to go all the way, you can have details of crochet everywhere, on your jeans, dress or top. Only you can decide.

The 17th of February I hosted an event in an ONLY store in Gothenburg. It was a special evening for members of the customer club and people invited by me. The main subject of the evening was spring! Inspiration and news.

During the evening everyone was very exited since I had planned a fashion show with great models who showed what the shop and thereby ONLY were offering them. During the evening there also was a great great singer there who sang a few songs to really get the feeling of spring there. And of course we had great sponsors for our goodie bags. Everything was perfect, and I had a really good time even though there was a lot to take care of. But if everyone is really happy and had really fun that evening I’m happy to do it. (more…)

I just got to show you this, I found an amazing jacket a few days ago. I’ve been looking for a parka with the right fit, but there has always been something about every one of them I’ve tried on that I didn’t like. Stings in the wrong places, wrong kind of buttons or some other detail that wasn’t good enough. But one day I just found this jacket, Heidi Trarka Jacket Gun Metal. And I was completely sold out! It has just the perfect soft military green color that I’ve been looking for, not too masculine but instead rather sweet. What I want most is to wear it right now with layered sweaters and a really big scarf. However, I think it may be too early, so I choose to show you how I want to style it as soon as the heat shows up and the ice will disappear from our streets. I’m really longing for the summer right now!

I was once a jeans person, I wore jeans almost every day and night. Then something happened, all my jeans ended up in the back of my closet. The leggings and tights took their place, and all of the lovely dresses that appeared became an obsession.

But right now the jeans I once wore are getting back in the spotlight again, and I can’t get enough of these amazing work trousers. Did you know that they actually were made to be working trousers in the beginning, made to withstand extreme wear? But very soon the rock ’n’ roll culture embraced this garment and made it popular worldwide. And because so many think they look better the more you use them, jeans that looked worn were made.
