TREND STYLES NOVEMBER – FREJA’S WEEKEND

This month ‘We ONLY Party Like Rockstars’ and dress up in these cool, party styles.

Every weekend the ONLY girl shows her true rock n roll attitude hanging out at concerts and partying all night long.

The collection is inspired by the cool Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen and her raw, rock chick attitude. (more…)

Dresses for autumn

As you might know, we like to see people mix and match ONLY styles to create a unique fashionista look.

Finding new ways of wearing dresses already in your wardrobe is a fashion win-win. Especially for autumn, where you just have gotten use to wear summer dresses.

For those crisp summer nights…..

Indeed it is peculiar to be considering sweaters at summer time, however when spending a day outside the house, not knowing when or where it ends, I always bring some sort of cozy sweater. It is lighter than a jacket and adds the chíc French, yet casual touch to both pants, skirts, shorts and dresses. In this outfit, I have paired the loose beige sweater by ONLY with a cute flowery summer dress (also by ONLY). Additionally, when we get around the colder seasons of the year it serves the warm purpose perfectly together with layers of clothes…

What do you usually do to be “fabulously practical” ? (is there even such a fashion move or is it just some sort of oxymoron?)

Time

I think I seriously need a course in time-management. I am so busy at the moment and I keep on saying “yes” to all sorts of projects (very nice things, but still). But there comes a time when you have to say “no” and that’s definitely not my strongest point.

I have my internship now where I am working at least about 45 hours a week, my part-time job, my essay for school, my blog, my sponsors, my overloaded inbox, some very nice writing projects like this one, discussing a TV-show at the moment, starting up a web shop, working out and besides that I like to have a social life with my boyfriend, family and friends! So sometimes I get a little bit crazy :-)

That dress

If I visit one and the same shop over and over again, it sometimes happens that I notice an item I like, but still leave it for some reason; it is not really my style, it may be unflattering, it is not “interesting enough” or I already have a similar one in my selection. So I leave the boutique thinking of this garment yet with the feeling I might have made a wrong decision. The dress of this post is exactly the piece in question. I have seen it in my local ONLY shop for quite some time, but always ended up leaving it and now, that I bought it, I am really glad that I followed my style instinct. D’you ever experience the same?

Make a change

Sometimes you find pieces you really love, if only they were a little bit different. So did I when I found this white dress at an ONLY store. Or it used to be a dress. I loved it, but there was something about it that wasn’t perfect if you ask me. But I bought it anyway since I knew exactly what to do with it. I cut it a little bit shorter, to make a tunic of it instead. And now it’s really what I was looking for.

It’s really often like that, you find something that’s almost perfect and when you do, you leave it. I know I do all the time. Thinking, perhaps I should buy it and make some changes. But it’s seldom I do, most of the time I don’t have the time or don’t know what to do with it. But I should buy those pieces more often, or everyone should, and remake them until they are perfect. It makes things more personal and a bit different, and I like that. It’s so much more fun than when everyone looks the same! (more…)

Who is your Style icon?

A question that I’ve been asked a lot lately in interviews is who my style icon is. But what is a style icon? Is a style icon a fashion victim, someone who follows all the trends all the time? This couldn’t be further from the truth! They are actually women who have the whole package: fashion, style, personality and confidence. Such a person doesn’t ever follow a fashion trend, but creates them instead.

But to answer the question, I would say Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. Not only has she dazzled the whole world with her creations, but she is responsible for the famous “little black dress” and her famous perfume, among many other things. But I also admire Jackie Kennedy, she might have had a tormented life, but her fashion style was way ahead of her time. She was among the first women who wore jackets designed by Coco Chanel with a simple pair of jeans. Another important style icon for me is Audrey Hepburn with her slender figure and pixie haircut. I love the simple yet fabulous way she wore even the most common outfits. (more…)
